A WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM THAT REALLY WORKS
We all know that there is no single weight loss program that works for everyone. But nonetheless, all weight loss programs should meet the following set of guidelines to be considered successful:
1. The patient really wants to change their life.
- Change is the one thing that the human brain refuses to do.
- Change means being different than all the others.
2. The patient has an understanding why the weight is there and how it affects their life.
- A security blanket from birth and the inability to let it go.
- Link to an emotional trauma from childhood.
- Does a psychologist even know why the weight is there in the first place?
3. The patient has a drive and will to do whatever it takes to get that weight off and understand what it will do for their life.
- An understanding of how it will change their life, health, social interactivity, attitude, and their emotions.
- A desire to be like no other. To be different and not what everyone expects them to be. Their unique you.
4. The patient needs to know that losing that weight is not only for their vanity and self esteem but also for their life.
- Doors will open that used to be closed.
- Opportunities that were previously nonexistent will show up everywhere.
- Many hopes and dreams will come true.
- And most importantly, they will live long enough to see their grandkids grow up.
Does Dieting always work? Absolutely not! There are people who eat anything and everything they want and yet not gain a single pound. Then there are others that starve themselves or stay on strict diets and continue to gain weight.
Does Exercise always work? Absolutely not! Exercise will maintain a certain level of health and happiness and possibly a tighter body but exercise is not always the answer for losing weight.
Does Reduces Stress always work? Absolutely not! But reduced stress is a critical part of losing weight especially around the waist and hips.
So why are there so many people overweight? More than 50% of the US population is overweight, and 20% of them are obese. Women more so than men and now our children are becoming obese.
What organs are involved with weight control?
- Hypothalamus is in charge of controlling hunger.
- Pituitary Gland is hard at work taking orders from the Hypothalamus and is constantly trying to please the Thyroid. It’s involved with energy, hormones and HGH which is a complex protein that is also secreted by the pituitary gland. This hormone includes 191 amino acids whose main functions are to activate the capability of the liver to produce Insulin Growth Factor.
- Thyroid Gland, without going into detail, regulates metabolism. The Thyroid maintains itself and most often will let you know if it needs help. Some indicators are: Body temperature, Energy, Mood, Sleep, Heart, Weight Gain or Loss, Fatigue, Cold Hands & Feet, Dry Skin, Brain Fog, Tingling in Hands & Feet, Muscle Pain, Edema, and Elevated Cholesterol.
- Adrenal Gland Exhaustion which is caused by the release of Cortisol, a hormone that your adrenals release, usually in response to stress. Adrenal Gland Exhaustion symptoms can be: Extreme fatigue, Inability to sleep, Decreased ability to handle stress, Low blood sugar, Craving for salty and sweet foods, Having more energy at night instead of in the morning, Confused or murky thinking, Pain in your joints, Poor digestion, Lowered immunities, PMS and other menstrual problems, Consistently low blood pressure, Hair loss, and Weight gain in specific areas.
- Liver Congestion and Toxicity has now been shown to possibly be the number one cause of weight loss. Your liver monitors the blood and all the chemicals that flow throughout the body. It is the laboratory of the human body. The liver knows everything that is going on inside and is connected in some way to all health events. Treating the liver is a critical part of any health issue. The liver helps to clear out lipids/fats from our body.
- Digestive System consists of two very critical processes involving weight; digesting the food and absorbing the nutrients. Many diseases and overweight or underweight issues are caused by deficiencies which are related to a poor food chain and the inability to absorb our nutrients. The human body is never food hungry or starved, it is only nutrient deficient. We stop eating when our Liver and Pancreas tell the brain we are glucose satisfied and nutrient levels are acceptable. This is why fresh juicing can be such a critical part of restoring health and losing weight. Absorption is easy and the nutrient content is concentrated. Juicing before each meal will satisfy the nutrient needs by 50% and load up the stomach with natural digestive enzymes.
- Be aware of the causes of stress in your life and manage them
- Exercise regularly if that works for you
- Adopt a routine of deep breathing, meditation, or yoga
- Eat a balanced, healthy diet and include fruits and vegetables
- Get enough sleep; 6 hours is recommended
- Replace salty food with herbs and spices to enhance flavor
- Reduce (not eliminate) intake of fat, oil, salt and sugar
- For those with poor appetites, try eating small but frequent raw meals
- Take a high-quality multivitamin, especially vitamin B, C and D each day
- Avoid or minimize alcohol
